26440. Abigail Otis. Born ca 1754 in Taunton, MA.

Joseph and Abigail were second cousins in two ways: their paternal grandfathers were brothers, and his maternal grandfather and her paternal grandmother were siblings.

On 13 Apr 1776 Abigail married Joseph Otis (32794) , son of Joseph Otis (25222) (16 Mar 1709/10-11 Sep 1788) & Mercy Little (23656) (8 May 1724-), in Boston, MA. Born ca 1743 in Scituate, MA. Joseph was baptized in First Parish Church, Scituate, on 15 May 1743.¹¹⁶ Joseph died on 22 May 1790 in Boston, MA.⁷

Joseph married Abigail while Boston was occupied by British troops, and then joined the army a week later.²²³
