Joseph and Abigail removed to Topsham, ME, after 1760.7

On 11 Jan 1727 when Joseph was 24, he married Abigail Steel in First Parish Church, Scituate.85

27299. Dea. Elisha Foster. Born on 28 May 1708 in Scituate, MA.116 Elisha died in Scituate, MA, on 23 Apr 1771; he was 62.116 Buried in Scituate, MA GR13.

“Dea. Elisha married Temperance Freeman of Harwich, 1739. Children, John born 1740, Bathshua 1742, Elisha 1745 , Temperance 1747, wife of Dea. Francis Cushing, who removed to Maine: Sarah 1749, first wife of Dea. Elisha James: Mary 175 2, wife of Elijah Turner, Esq.: Ruth 1754, wife of Nathaniel Chittenden, and second wife of Dea. Elisha James.”6

Elisha, of the French and Indian War, resided in the old Foster house built by Dea. Hatherly in 1697/98. One of the original windows of this house is [1936] preserved in the Kent Memorial house at Norwell Village.7

On 26 Oct 1738 when Elisha was 30, he married Temperance Freeman, daughter of Benjamin Freeman (17 Jul 1685-2 Aug 1758) & Temperance Dimmock (Jun 1689-29 Sep 1773), in Harwich, MA.116 Born ca 1715 in Harwich, MA. Temperance died on 22 Jul 1777 in Scituate, MA.116 Buried in Second Church Cem., Norwell.

On 23 Jan 1735/6 Ruth married Richard Turner (19532) , son of John Turner (7864) (30 Oct 1654-bef Oct 1706) & Abigail Padeshall (29 Sep 1663-), in the Second Church of Scituate.116,85 Born on 5 Jun 1702 in Scituate, MA.6 Richard died ca 1752.

On Friday, 20 Dec 1751, “all ye: Children of Mr: Richard Turner in his house, he being Sick. Viz. Iemima, upon her desire. Iohn, Vine, Ioseph, Consider, &Ruth.” were baptized.193 Also, Deborah, daughter of Ruth widow, baptized 21 Jun 1752.116
