On 29 Sep 1679 when James was 35, he second married Elizabeth Rawlins, daughter of Nathaniel Rawlins (ca 1626-23 Dec 1662) & Lydia Sylvester (8 Dec 1633-), in Scituate, MA.121 Born in Jun 1661 in Scituate, MA.121 Elizabeth died on 7 Apr 1700 in Scituate, MA.121

27717. Damaris Torrey. Born on 26 Oct 1651 in Scituate, MA.3 Damaris died in 1717.

In Dec 1676 Damaris married Richard Prouty, son of Richard Prout (22 Apr 1621-27 Dec 1703) & Elizabeth Guest, in Scituate, MA. Born ca Sep 1652 in Radmarton, Gloucestershire. Richard was baptized in Radmarton, Gloucestershire, on 30 Sep 1652. Richard died on 1 Sep 1708 in Scituate, MA.

27720. Josiah Torrey. Born on 28 Jan 1658 in Scituate, MA.121 Josiah died in 1722.

From Deane’s History of Scituate:6
      “Josiah had a considerable tract of land contiguous to Herringbrook hill on the north. His house was in the valley one fourth mile north of the South Meeting-house, opposite to the present [1831] house of Jr. James N. Sparrell. He unfortunately lost his life, A.D. 1693 [Deane must have the date wrong]. He was in the act of tying the Town’s stock of powder on the roof of his house, when a spark from the chimney falling, his life was instantly lost, and his house laid to ruins.”

On 6 Oct 1684 when Josiah was 26, he first married Isabel [Witherell] in Scituate, MA.87 Isabel died on 31 Mar 1689 in Scituate, MA.121

Isabel married first Samuel Witherell, second Josiah Torrey.

27722. Joanna Torrey. Born on 4 May 1663 in Scituate, MA.3

On 3 May 1709 when Joanna was 45, she married Thomas Lambert (5905) , son of John Lambert (ca 1632-6 Nov 1667) & Abigail Hutchinson (1627) (ca 1636-), in Scituate, MA.87 Born in Scituate, MA.

27723. Bethia Torrey. Born on 19 Jul 1665 in Scituate, MA.121 Bethia died in Scituate, MA, on 11 Sep 1735; she was 70.

ca 1684 Bethia married Robert Woodward. Born ca 1657 in Boston, MA. Robert died ca 1744 in Scituate, MA.

Robert settled in the west part of town, east of Symon’s hill.2

Robert was 85 when he married Mary Soper, who was 65, according to the church records.121

It’s been suggested that Robert was a son of Nathaniel Woodward of Boston and Taunton. Robert’s first wife was Mary Jackson, second Katherine. For an analysis, check out Some Descendants of Nathaniel Woodward who came from England to Boston, about 1630, by Harold Edward Woodward, 1984.
