On 21 Feb 1775 when Joseph was 33, he married Sarah Magoon (28091) , daughter of Recompense Magoon (16468) (19 May 1716-10 Feb 1802) & Ruth Crooker (-25 Mar 1803), in Pembroke, MA.²¹² Born on 4 Apr 1751 in Pembroke, MA.²¹² Sarah died in Pembroke, MA, on 25 Jan 1837; she was 85.²¹²

Joseph and Sarah were second cousins; their grandfathers Magoon were brothers.

iii. Nathaniel Magoon, b. ca. 1786, d. 11 May 1853, m. at Pembroke 9 Nov 1809 Mary Mitchell (b. Dec 1782, d. after 1850).²¹²
