Nehemiah was ordained in Scituate Nov 1792, and pastor of the First Parish Church, Scituate, 1792-1831. He lived first in the old parsonage on Brook St. near the Harbor, and afterward built the house on Brushy Hill, on the Country Way.7
On 11 Sep 1795 (int) when Nehemiah was 29, he married Hannah Otis (33029) , daughter of Dr. James Otis (24425) (3 Sep 1734-24 May 1807) & Lucy Cushing (24272) (27 Dec 1735-24 Jun 1816), in Scituate, MA.116 Born on 24 Feb 1767 in Scituate, MA.116 Hannah died in Scituate, MA, on 28 Mar 1831; she was 64.223
