He first did not marry Elizabeth Slocum. Born on 29 Oct 1711. Elizabeth died in 1793.
Elizabeth, dau. of John & Barbara Slocum.

On 2 Feb 1732 when Gideon was 21, he second married Rebecca Vaughan, daughter of Capt. Daniel Vaughan (17 Mar 1685-25 Dec 1717) & Rebecca Weaver (ca 1686-ca 1716), in Portsmouth, RI.269 Gideon Cornell of Portsmouth & Rebecca Vaughn of Newport were married by Gov. William Wanton. Born on 30 Nov 1715 in Newport, RI. Rebecca died in 1784.
