David Little Esq (20170) (18 Mar 1680/1-9 Feb 1779) & Elizabeth Southworth (11311) (29 Sep 1686-10 Apr 1743), in First Parish Church, Scituate.85 Born on 2 Sep 1712 in Scituate, MA.116 David died in 1792 in Scituate, MA.121 Buried in Scituate, MA GR6.

David and Deborah resided in Scituate. He was often employed in public business. They left no family.6

32657. David Clap. Born on 20 Mar 1720/1 in Scituate, MA.116 David died in 1753 in Scituate, MA.

On 19 Feb 1740/1 when David was 19, he first married Ruth Dwelley, daughter of John Dwelley & Judith [Dwelley], in the Second Church of Scituate.116 Born ca 1725. Ruth died on 6 Jun 1743 in Scituate, MA.116 Buried in Scituate, MA GR14. 116

On 15 Dec 1750 when David was 29, he second married Mary Bryant (22754) , daughter of Benjamin Bryant (21052) (13 Oct 1708-) & Abigail Randall (10508) (Nov 1709-), in Scituate, MA. Born on 29 Jun 1730 in Scituate, MA.

32658. James Clap. Born on 20 Jul 1723 in Scituate, MA.116 At the age of 2, James was baptized in First Parish Church, Scituate, on 22 Aug 1725.116

32659. Noah Clap. Born on 7 Oct 1725 in Scituate, MA.116 At the age of 2, Noah was baptized in First Parish Church, Scituate, on 25 Aug 1728.116

Deane6 in his history of Scituate says this Noah removed to Norton, but he is mistaken. The Noah who removed to Norton was one of the Walpole Clapps.279

32660. Abijah Clap. Born on 25 Sep 1727 in Scituate, MA.116

Abijah probably did not settle in Scituate as the record of the birth of his children does not appear to be there. His children: Noah (d. a young man, unmarried), Abijah (was a cooper by trade, lived in Bridgewater many years, left no children), and Stephen (removed to Baltimore and was married).279

Abjiah and his wife Elizabeth had five children baptized in Hingham’s second precinct: Elizabeth 1756, Sarah 1758, Abijah 1761, Stephen 1763, and Huldah 1769.33

On 29 Mar 1749 when Abijah was 21, he married Elizabeth Ewell in First Parish Church, Scituate.116 116

32661. Joshua Clap. Born on 1 Jan 1729 in Scituate, MA.116 At the age of 1, Joshua was baptized in First Parish Church, Scituate, on 30 Aug 1730. Joshua died in 1812.279

Joshua served as the clerk of Capt. Turner’s company on the Lexington Alarm.

On 12 Jul 1756 when Joshua was 27, he first married Lydia Short, daughter of Matthew Short (14 Mar 1688-15 Apr 1731) & Margaret Freeman (9 Feb 1689/90-), in Abington, MA.116 Born on 20 Dec 1729. Lydia died in Scituate, MA, on 17 Jul 1786; she was 56.116 Buried in Scituate, MA GR14.

On 21 Oct 1787 when Joshua was 58, he second married Hannah Briggs (21114) , daughter of Capt. James Briggs (20968) (27 Feb 1720-29 May 1804) & Hannah Barker (8988) (17 Jan 1724-16 May 1792), in Scituate, MA.116 Born on 31 Dec 1746 in Scituate, MA.116 At the age of <1, Hannah was baptized on 29 Mar 1747.116 Hannah died in Scituate, MA, on 18 Oct 1794; she was 47.116 Buried in Scituate, MA GR14.

32662. Capt. Galen Clap. Born on 5 Feb 1732 in Scituate, MA.116 At the age of 1, Galen was baptized in First Parish Church, Scituate, on 5 Aug 1733.116 Galen died in Scituate, MA, on 23 Feb 1776; he was 44.279,116 Buried in Scituate, MA GR14. Gravestone: “Galen Clapp was Capt. of the 2nd Scituate Co. of Minute. Men Col. Anthony Thomas’ Regiment which marched on the Lexington Alarm, April 19 1775”. Occupation: ship carpenter.

On 12 Jan 1768 when Galen was 35, he married Patience Brooks in Scituate, MA.116

32663. Increase Clap. Born on 20 Mar 1734 in Scituate, MA.116 At the age of 1, Increase was baptized in First Parish Church, Scituate, on 21 Sep 1735.116 Increase died in Scituate, MA, on 30 Sep 1777; he was 43.116 Buried in Scituate, MA GR6.

Increase was one of the committee chosen by the town of Scituate to draft a vote concerning the formation of a Constitution for the State; they reported a favorable one, which was passed.279

On 24 Jun 1756 when Increase was 22, he married Delight Nash (22328) , daughter of Joseph Nash (10154) (28 Jan 1702-1764) & Deborah Merritt (22714) (14 Apr 1711-), in First Parish Church, Scituate.116 Born on 14 Jan 1734 in Scituate, MA.116 116
