On 10 Jun 1770 when John was 28, he married Sarah Loring (24453) , daughter of Nathaniel Loring (12107) (21 Aug 1704-ca 1760) & Priscilla Bailey (19 Jan 1712-17 Aug 1787), in Pembroke, MA. Born on 17 Jun 1746 in Pembroke, MA. Sarah died in Pembroke, MA, on 25 Oct 1813; she was 67.

33036. Sarah Thomas. Born on 6 Feb 1755 in Pembroke, MA.7 Sarah died in Salem, MA, on 9 Dec 1833; she was 78.7

    iv. Judith, b. 28 Aug 1786.7

On 16 Oct 1777 when Sarah was 22, she married Enos Briggs (31288) , son of Seth Briggs (20969) (28 Aug 1721-23 Jul 1801) & Abigail Church (31607) (11 Feb 1726-3 Nov 1795), in Pembroke, MA.125 Born on 29 Jul 1746 in Pembroke, MA.125 At the age of <1, Enos was baptized in the Second Church of Scituate, on 7 Sep 1746.116 Enos died in Salem, MA, on 9 Oct 1819; he was 73.7

Enos served his apprenticeship at the Brick Kiln shipyard with hs father and brothers, and built there until 1789 when he went to Salem, and removed his familty to that place in July 1791. His shipyard was located at South Salem, where, between 1791 and 1818, he built over 50 vessels, the largest being 850 tons, the smallest, 96 tons.7
