Copy of a page from John W. Race’s Bible - In the Civil War pension papers of Peter Race, Walter M. Race provides what he states is a copy of a page from John W. Race’s Bible in order to verify Peter Race’s birthdate. Walter states that the bible itself was given to William H. Race, John W.’s and Margaret’s eldest son. Lewis W. Race of Seattle, Washington, has provided a typed copy of that page in October, 1999. The typed page also includes information on William H. Race’s family. As Walter M. Race moved to Sand Point, Idaho, about 1900, it is probable that this is a correct copy of the original page with the additions from William H.’s family. It is unknown which family member actually typed the following information. However, it was most likely typed following the death Lewis W. Race (b. 6 Nov. 1872) in 1964. The page reads as follows:

“Records of the births of the Family of John W. and Margaret Race
