Rhoda married a Mr Wolcott, perhaps divorced, since in 1810 when she was “Rhoda Doolittle, late Wolcott” of Augusta, Oneida Co., NY. She later married a Mr Ford.30 Rhoda had at least one son, Chauncey Woolcot; he went to Ohio about 1845.372

Was Rhoda’s husband John Wolcott, born 7 Jul 1774, died 1832, married 1795, son of Abel Wolcott (b. 21 Sep 1750) and Elizabeth Martin (b. 23 Sep 1742, married 3 Oct 1742)?

ca 1795 Rhoda married John Wolcott (34700) , son of Abel Wolcott (21 Sep 1750-) & Elizabeth Martin (27596) (23 Sep 1742-). Born on 7 Jul 1774 in Wallingford, CT. John died in 1832.

Isaac was residing in Windham, NY in 1810.30 Isaac was “mentioned in 1809 in distribution of his mother’s dowry. It is probable he was the Isaac Doolittle who resided in Vermont in Oct., 1828, and signed petition to legislature. In 1834 he resided in Bennington, Co., VT, and petitioned legislature for a country poor house which was granted. He also petitioned same body ‘for an alteration of the law authorizing listers to tax persons for their faculty.’”372

He married a Ms Brooks.30 “John probably settled in Vermont and his name appears on the petition to the legislature with his brother Isaac’s in Oct., 1828. He married a daughter of David Brooks, of Wallingford and may have resided there for a time.”372

33452. Elizabeth Doolittle. Born on 10 Oct 1790 in North Haven, CT.72 Born on 10 Oct 1792. Elizabeth’s birth according to her headstone. Elizabeth died in Livingston County, Michigan, on 22 Feb 1867; she was 76. Buried in Wrights Cemetery, Iosco Twp, Livingston Co.

Is the Elizabeth Dottle, or Dootle, who was born 10 Oct 1792 and married Edward Sager the same as Elizabeth Doolitle, born 10 Oct 1790 in North Haven, CT?

April 2, 1865, and Elizabeth Dotle, wife of Edward Sager, b. Oct. 10, 1792, d. Feb 22, 1867. Buried in Wright’s Cemetery, Iosco Township, Livingston County, Michigan.

There was a Fanny Sager who married a John Shepherd in Livingston County in 1864.

At the age of <1, Edward was baptized in Lutheran Church, Albany, on 22 Aug 1786. Edward, born 2 Nov 1785, son of Thomas and Maria Seger, witnesses Elisabeth Rewbuttom & John Rewbuttom, her husband. Edward died in Livingston County, Michigan, on 2 Apr 1865; he was 79. Buried in Wrights Cemetery, Iosco Twp, Livingston Co.

Edward Sagar, also spelled Segar and Sager.

The 1830 census of Tully, Onondaga County, New York (Roll: M19_100, page: 324) has Edward Sager with one male of five and under ten, one ten and under 15, and one 40 and under 50. There is one female five and under ten, one ten and under 15 and one 30 and under 40. The ages fit with Edward and Angeline’s and their known children. On the same page are Samuel and John Patten.

Edward Sager was first taxed in Iosco Township in 1846. He was living in section 17 of the township. This was also the first year a Wm. H. Simmons was taxed, living in section 9. See History of Livingston Co., Michigan, Philadelphia: Everts & Abbott, 1880, page 260.

1850 Handy Township, Livingston County, Michigan census shows Edward as 69 years old, a farmer with $100 worth of real estate, and his birthplace is unknown. Betsey is 60 and was born in Canada. Elenor is 17 and was born in New York.

An 1856 Livingston County Marriage license
for Enoch Smith, 41, of White Oak Township, Ingham County to Sarah Wright, 22, of Unadilla Township, Livingston County indicates they were married on 1 October 1856 by Ara Smithy J. P. Marion Segar and Harriet Smith were witnesses.

In the 1860 Handy Township, Livingston County, Michigan census, Edward is 74 and Elizabeth is 67. Three small children with the surname of “Rector” are living with them. They are Adeline and William who are five years of age, and Abnora who is three. Edward and Elizabeth were born in NY, the children in Michigan.

In the 1860 Howell Township census, Permelia Rector, 36, is the mother of Alice E. who is eight, Adella M. who is six, and Port D. who is four.

Also in the 1860 Iosco Township, Livingston County census are Harrison Sager who is 44, Nancy is 36, Sarah is 14, James J. is ten, Lodisa is six and Arletta is three.

The mortality schedule for the 1860 Iosco Township census lists the death of Samuel Sager, two months old of inflamation of the lungs. He was born in Michigan and was ill for seven days.

Abraham “was born and brought up at North Haven, Connecticut. In 1813 young Abraham Doolittle and two others were fined $2.27 for they did ‘Break the sabbath by whispering, lafing and making Disturbance in the time of public worhip on said day which doings are against the peace and contrary to the statue as made and provided.’” Abraham married Eliza Bixby in 1824 after residing for a time at Wallingford they moved to town of Clay, Onondaga County, New York, near the village of Belgium where Abraham resided and died age 82. Eliza then returned to Connecticut and resided with daughter Phebe at Brooksvale near New Hampshire.”372

ca 1824 Abraham married Eliza Bixby. Born on 23 Feb 1804. Eliza died on 27 Jan 1881; she was 76.372 Buried in Clay, Onondaga Co., NY.372 Epitaph: “At rest in Jesus”.
