34616. Joel Jenkins. Born on 12 Nov 1707 in Reading, MA.14 At the age of 6, Joel was baptized in Wakefield, MA, on 31 Oct 1714.164 Joel died in Reading, MA, on 29 Jan 1748; he was 40.408

Joel’s will was dated 27 Jan 1748, proved 27 Feb 1748. He left certain land and all movables and £100 to his wife Mary, the remainder to be equally divided between his brothers and sisters.408

On 28 Jan 1720/1 (int) when Joel was 13, he first married Mary Harvell, daughter of James Harvell (ca 1676-) & Mary Waite (11 Aug 1685-), in Lynn, MA.219 Born on 3 Jan 1706/7 in Malden, MA.

On 5 Apr 1733 when Joel was 25, he second married Mary Taylor (37380) , daughter of Thomas Taylor (11 Aug 1672-6 Mar 1729/30) & Mary Damon (35598) (22 Oct 1683-), in Reading, MA. Born on 25 Jun 1708 in Reading, MA.

34617. Samuel Jenkins. Born on 5 Dec 1709 in Reading, MA.14 At the age of 4, Samuel was baptized in Wakefield, MA, on 31 Oct 1714.164 Samuel died in Reading, MA, on 9 Mar 1787; he was 77.408

Samuel was caled of Andover in 1745 when he bought a part of Peter Osgood’s farm in that town, and again in 1750 and 1756 when he joined with his borthers and sisters ‘heirs to our hon’d Father Joel Jenkins’ of Wilmington in the sale of land at Wilmington and Chelsea. He was a husbandman or yeoman. In his will, dated 12 Oct 1785, proved 2 Apr 1787, he mentions his wife Rebekah, sons Joel and Benjamin, the children of his deceased son Samuel, daughter Lydia, the children of his daughter Mary Jones, and his grandson Samuel.408

Samuel married Rebecca Stuart. Born ca 1718. Rebecca died on 5 Dec 1789 in Reading, MA.408

34620. Obadiah Jenkins. Born ca 1718. Obadiah was baptized in Wakefield, MA, on 8 Jun 1718.164 Occupation: Yeoman.

In a deed dated 1754 Obadiah is called of Wilmington, but was living at Groton in 1756, when he joined with the other heirs of his father in the sale of land at Chelsea. On the day of the Battle of Lexington he turned out with four of his sons, in Capt. Farwell’s Company of Col. Prescott’s Regiment.408

On 21 Dec 1738 Obadiah married Lydia Bixby (35499) , daughter of David Bixby (29641) (16 Deb 1687/8-1767) & Abigail Butterfield (4 Jun 1693-), in Westford, MA. Born on 22 Oct 1717 in Westford, MA. Lydia died in Stoddard, NH.

Hepzibah married Ebenezer Temple (15916) , son of Richard Temple (19412) (1667/8-23 Nov 1737) & Deborah Parker (5877) (15 Aug 1674-8 May 1751). Born on 7 May 1716 in Reading, MA.14 Ebenezer died ca 1800.

Ebenezer went to Tewksbury.15

On 5 Sep 1745 Lydia married Ezra Carter (10573) , son of Ebenezer Carter (10963) (24 Sep 1695-1 Mar 1746) & Lydia Butters (3230) (11 Jun 1695-14 Feb 1774), in Wilmington, MA.142 Born on 2 May 1723 in Woburn, MA.35 Ezra died in 1771 in Wilmington, MA.

Three sons of Ezra—namely Ezra, James, and Joseph—marched on the alarm of 19 Apr 1775 as privates in Capt. Timothy Walker’s Company, Col. Green’s regiment. Ezra served four days, James six and one half days, and Joseph three days.150

34623. Joseph Jenkins. Born on 17 Mar 1725 in Wilmington, MA.142 At the age of <1, Joseph was baptized in Wakefield, MA, on 29 Aug 1725.164 Joseph died on 8 Jan 1808; he was 82.408 Occupation: Yeoman.

Joseph inherited land in Malden from his uncle Obadiah Jenkins, which he sold to E. Willis by deed dated 12 Apr 1768. He resided at Wilmington and was a soldier in the Revolution.
In his will, dated 3 Aug 1805, proved 26 Apr 1808, he mintions his wife Sarah; three sons Joel, Joseph, and Benjamin, who were to have all the real estate, except that Benjamin was to have only a life interest in hi share, with remainder to ‘his legal heirs’; daughters mary wife of William Hathorne, Sarah wife of Joel Carter, Lydia wife of Ebenezer Geard, Dorotha wife of John Foster, and Elizabe3th wife of Joseph Peabody; and grandson Jesse Butters, sonh of his daughter Rebecca. To his son-in-law Caleb Eames he gave one dollar ‘as an acknowledgment of the connection that once subsisted between him & my family’.408

On 6 Nov 1749 when Joseph was 24, he married Sarah Barron, daughter of Timothy Barron (30 Mar 1707-bef 1766) & Hannah Fletcher (21 Sep 1706-), in Wilmington, MA.142 Born on 4 Aug 1726 in Westford, MA.408 Sarah died on 7 Mar 1810; she was 83.408

    “William^4 Jones, born in Woburn, Aug. 23, 1724, located in Andover, Mass., in 1745, where he lived about ten years, then settled in Amherst, N. H., where he resided for a score of years, and thence removed, about the begging of the Revolution, to Hillsborough, N. H., where he was living as late as 1785. His futher history has not been traced, but he probably ended his days in Windsor, N. H.”
