On 3 Apr 1757 when Enos was 21, he married Lois Williams, daughter of James Williams (ca 1692-13 Oct 1740) & Sarah Judd (2 Feb 1692/3-1740), in Wallingford, CT. Born on 20 Feb 1731/2 in Wallingford, CT. Lois died ca 1811.

“David and Elizabeth resided in the old Brooks homestead in Cheshire, CT. After graduating from college David was ordained to the work of the ministry, occasionally preached, but never was a settled pastor. He was a delegate to the state convention held in Hartford in Jan 1788 to ratify and adopt the constitution of the United States. He was a soldier in the Revolution, enlisted as a private, after promoted to quartermaster of the regiment. In Revolutionary times he occasionally preached with his musket on his back. He preparted and delivered in Derby, CT, in 1774, a discourse on The Religion of the Revolution. This discourse was highly commended and strongly influenced public opinion in favor of the cause of the struggling colonies. It was published by his son Micah of Brooks Grove, NY, and copies of it are preserved. Their family became quite an influential one.”372

David was ordained to the work of the ministry, and occasionally preached but was never a settled pastor. In 1774 he prepared and delivered in Derby a discourse on The Religion of the Revolution, which was highly commended and infuenced public opinion in favor of the Colonial cause. He served in Capt. Shumway’s Co., 1st Regt, Conn. Line, Jul to Dec 1780; and was in the 2nd Conn. Regt. in 1783. He represented Wallingford in the Conn. Assembly, Oct 1777, and May 1780, and in 1788 was a delegate to the State Convention which ratified the federal Constitution.139

On 20 Jan 1773 when David was 28, he married Elizabeth Doolittle (24997) , daughter of Daniel Doolittle (12749) (3 Feb 1707-Sep 1791) & Elizabeth Dayton (21639) (25 Sep 1711-bef Nov 1775), in Wallingford, CT.31 Born on 26 May 1749 in Wallingford, CT.31 Elizabeth died in Cheshire, CT, on 15 Aug 1831; she was 82.30 Buried in Old Graveyard, Cheshire.
