Pane-Joyce Genealogy

Family of Eunice Cook (34119) & Thomas Cook

37042. Lucinda Cook. Born on 8 Apr 1811 in Tiverton, RI.157 Buried in Briggs Cemetary, North Pembroke, MA.

That Lucinda was the daughter of Eunice “is not certain, but seems indicated by the naming of her eldest son Darius. No other satisfactory identification for her has been found.”157

James’ brother Barnabus, married Hannah C. Cook, daughter of Harvey and Hannah (Bowen) Cook. Harvey was Eunice Cook’s brother. This both increases the likelihood that Lucinda Cook’s mother was Eunice (since brothers marrying cousins is common), it also suggests that Lucinda was the the daughter of Harvey and Hannah (Bowen) Cook (since brothers marrying sisters is quite common), and James and Lucinda’s son Darius could have been named that for the same reason that Eunice named her son Darius. More research is needed.

On 15 Sep 1833 when Lucinda was 22, she married James Ford (36832) , son of James Ford (33309) (11 Feb 1791-1865) & Mercy Lewis (35512) (20 Aug 1790-), in Fall River.157 Asa Bronson, minister.
