The following information is extracted from the book - Crubaugh, the American Story - by William Leon Crubaugh.

WILLIAM A. CRUBAUGH

William A. Crubaugh was born in November of 1853, and was the sixth child and fourth son of Samuel G. and Ann (Wade) Crubaugh, of Jackson Township, Preble County, Ohio. William was a grandson on John and Mary (Gustin) Crubaugh. His older siblings were Joseph George, John W., Martha, Samuel Francis, and Jane Hannah.

On November 9, 1873, William A. was married to Amanda Plummer. Their marriage took place in Hancock County, Indiana. William A. and Amanda became parents of five children. Rosa C. was born in August of 1877. Arlena was born during the very early part of 1880. James "Samuel" was born December 15, 1882. Thomas A. arrived in this world on March 9, 1887. Raymond Ernest Russell was born on September 24, 1894.

In 1880, William A., his wife, Amanda, their two oldest children, and Amanda's mother, Catherine Plummer, were living in Lawrence Township, Marion County, Indiana. Arlena "Lennie" Crubaugh was married to John M. Robbin on Sept. 5, 1897, in Greene County, Indiana.

During the year of 1900, William, with his wife and three sons, plus daughter, Rose Goodrich, and her daughter, Mary, age 4, were living in one household in Beech Creek Township, Greene County, Indiana.

James "Samuel" Crubaugh and Cora Harshman were married in the M.E. Church at Worthington, Indiana, on May 26, 1906. On June 29, 1909, Thomas A. Crubaugh was married to Jennie E. Johnson, in Greene County.

By the year of 1920, William was living on Center Avenue in Worthington, Indiana. He, Amanda, Raymond, and his mother-in-law, Catherine Plummer, who was then age 87, were living together in one household. On February 14 of that year, Raymond E. and Leona E. Flory were married.

William A. Crubaugh died in 1930, when he was 76 or 77 years old. He was buried in the Worthington Cemetery, in Section 8, Row 8.

Amanda Crubaugh, widow of William A., died at the age of 78 years, on February 21, 1933. The informant was her son, Thomas A. Interment took place at the Worthington Cemetery, next to her husband.
