The Western Reserve Chronicle, 18 March 1857, says: Died, Mrs Elsie Platt of Canfield, 11 months, 86 years, mother of Erastus Platt. Abstract appeared in the Trumball County Ohio Newspaper Obituary Abstracts 1812-1870, Edited by Michael Clegg. Volume 1, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, 1984.

Elsie married Joseph Platt, son of Joseph Platt (15 Feb 1749-8 Jan 1784) & Lydia Elsworth. Born on 6 May 1775 in Lanesborough, Berkshire County, Massachusetts. Joseph died in Canfield, Mahoning County, Ohio, on 15 Jan 1858; he was 82. Buried in Canfield Village Cemetery.
