Sylvia, 95, (Kimerer) of Marshall passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Best Care East Assisted Living in Marshall. She was the daughter of Charles and Lula (Rathburn) Blake. 
    Sylvia worked 17 years as a custodian for the Marshall School System, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Bellevue Christian Center and the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel. Sylvia took great pleasure cooking for family and friends. She enjoyed attending Senior Citizen group functions in Olivet and Marshall.
    Sylvia is survived by her sons; Vernon (Carlene) Kimerer of Marshall and Rev. Roger (Marlene) Kimerer of Battle Creek; step-son, Donald (Bernie) VanGeison of Battle Creek; 10 grand children, 7 step-grandchildren, 20 great-grand children and 12 step-great grandchildren. 
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Emmett Kimerer in 1977 and her second husband, Lawrence VanGeison in 1995; sister, Rose Bailey: step-son, Leslie VanGeison and daughter Dorothy Hewitt. 
    Funeral Services were Friday, May 23, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Cole officiating.  Memorial contributions may go to Oaklawn Hospice, The Salvation Army or a charity of one's choice.  The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home ~ Lehman Chapel, Bellevue.
