    Veda M Parker, 90, of Battle Creek, passed away September 1, 2010. Veda was born December 18, 1919 in Battle Creek the daughter of Frank and Mary (Milhem) Nichols. She married George Parker on December 18, 1940 and he preceded her in death on October 30, 1991 after 50 years of marriage. Veda graduated from Battle Creek High School in 1938, the first in her family to graduate high school. She retired from the Battle Creek Schools as a cafeteria worker. Veda was a member of the Bellevue Church of Christ. She was also a member of the A.B.W. A. Unity Chapter and T.O.P.S. for many years.
    Veda is survived by her daughters: Donna Tassos of Battle Creek, and Mary Callahan-Parker of St. Petersburg, FL; her son, Tom (Melva) Parker of Battle Creek; her grandchildren: Mike Parker, Tony Tassos, Kim Parker, Katerina Ectinaw, Dawn Gowen, Tonja Parker, Tom Holmgren, and Pam Hogan; and 8 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband George, Veda was preceded in death by her daughter: Elizabeth Wing in 1988; her half brothers Carl and Raymond Brott; and her sister: Gay McCrumb.
    Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Royal Funeral Home. Funeral services for Veda will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Royal Funeral Home. Burial will be at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions in Veda's name may be directed to Direct Connect, which is a church ministry for humanitarian aid, 13883 S. Drive North, Bellevue, MI 49021

    PARKER, CLIFFORD JAMES—
Aged 79, of Leoni Township, passed away May 31, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joanne L.; three children, Dawn (Casey) McAdam and Jody Mello, all of Adrian and Don (Barbara) Parker of Ohio; six grandchildren, Carey, Jamie, J.T., Jackie, Carly and Ryan; brother, Bob Parker of Florida and sister, Sue Parker of Jackson. He was an International Representative for the United Auto Workers, Air Corps Veteran of World War II, avid sailor and woodworker, formerly lived in the Windmill Village (Punta Gorda) Florida for 20 years where he served on the Village Board and as Commodore of their Yacht Club, and was a member of the P.G. Country Club.
    Services will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Jackson, Michigan, Friday, 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Beatrice Robinson officiating. Visitation at the funeral home Thursday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. At his request, cremation will follow services. The family suggests contributions in his memory to the Trinity United Methodist Church or the U.A.W. Local #889 Scholarship Fund.

    Joanne L. Parker, 82, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Toledo Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
    Joanne was born on December 29, 1930 in Akron, Ohio to Charles ‘Red' and Myrtle (Wilder) Hadden. She graduated from Adrian High School and in 1951. She married Clifford Parker at the Methodist Church in Adrian, Clifford preceded her in death in 2004. Joanne worked as a real estate agent and a substitute teacher. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, teaching bridge at the Adrian Senior Center, and was an avid reader. Joanne was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Adrian.
    Joanne is survived by her children Dawn (Casey) McAdam of Adrian, Donald (Barbara) Parker of Westlake, OH, and Jody (David Houck) Mello of Adrian; grandchildren Carey (Eli) Wilson, Jamie (Ryan) Shepherd, J.T. McAdam, Carly Parker, Ryan Parker, and Jackie Mello; one great grandchild Laney Shepherd; and brother Jim (Barbara) Hadden of Lansing.
    In addition to her husband Joanne is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Myrtle Hadden.
