Clues for the first puzzle

   
     
 

Well, what can you tell from the picture? Lots of things. Maybe the first that you notice is that the two little squares must be the same size, since they have the same height.

How about other squares? For one thing, the light green square below them must have twice the width. Why? It's top edge is the same line as the bottom edges of the two little squares. So, if each of them was a 1 by 1 square, then the light green one is a 2 by 2 square.

What about the blue square to their right? Then the lavender square above it? Finally, the green square to the left?
