On 9 May 1632 Jan first married Griet Michiels in Sloterdijk, Holland.

On 10 Aug 1636 Jan second married Annatje Ruys, daughter of Christian Ruys & Cornelia, in Sloten Reformed Church, Holland. Born in 1602 in Roermond, Limburg. Annatje was baptized in Roermond, Limburg, on 19 May 1602. Annatje died ca 1674.

Anneken Rous was a witness at the 1640 New Amsterdam baptism of Anne, daughter of Albert Cuyne.
