Samuel was in Farmington 1673, removed to Waterbury where he was one of the original settlers about 1677. He was one of the assignees of the first Indian deeds and is named in all fence divisions and properties lists.3

Inventory of Joseph’s estate, dated 12 Aug 1687, included land in Waterbury. children’s ages: Joseph 14, Benjamin 12, on 5 Jan next; Samuel 14 weeks, Mary 9 on 15 May last, Elizabeth 6 in next June. Widow mary made oath at Woodbury 31 oct 1687. The court appointed Samuel Hickock of Waterbury, Capt. Minor, Mr John sherman, and Jonathan Hough, Overseers.3
Joseph married Mary Carpenter, daughter of David Carpenter (-22 Jan 1650/1) & Elizabeth (-14 Apr 1664). Born in Aug 1650 in Farmington, CT.3 Mary died aft 1710. Religion: Mary was admitted to the church at Farmington 1 Mar 1679/80.3
