Ralph Hemingway, also spelled Hemenway, was of Roxbury by 1633, freeman 3 Sep 1634, He d. 1677, or 8. His will of 4 May 1677, probated 11 July of next year, mentioned his great age, names wife Elizabeth and three sons.25

Ralph’s will was dated 4 May 1677, proved 11 Jul 1678.41

Joshua, Roxbury, came, says the church record a single man, about Sep 1633, probably in the Griffin, with Cotton and Hooker, freeman 4 Mar following. He was rep. 1641, ar. co. 1643, a merch. of large transact. a lieut. sent with two others, Mar. 1648, to inq. a. complaints against Gorton's comp. at Warwick, over wh. Mass. always wish. to usurp jurisdict. engaged in the Narraganset sett. of Wickford, whither he rem. 1662, and in May 1663, was by Conn. jurisdict. with others appoint. He returned to Boston that year.25
On 8 Oct 1634 Joshua first married Mary Goldstone, daughter of Henry Goldstone (ca 1591-Jul 1638) & Ann Swaddock (ca 1589-26 Apr 1670), in Roxbury, MA.16 Born ca 1620 in Wickham Skeith, Suffolk. Mary was baptized in Wickham Skeith, Suffolk, on 26 Feb 1620.16 Mary died in Boston, MA on 23 Aug 1655.25
