Thomas Philbrick, Sergeant, bought of William Sanborn, May 17, 1647, his house-lot, containing six acres, with the buildings thereon, and several other tracts of land, and Oct. 11, 1651, conveyed the same to his father, Thomas Philbrick, Sen. who retained it through life. It has never since been alienated; is now [1893] owned by John A. Philbrick, of the eighth generation. The deed bounded it westerly, by William Fifield (now, heirs of Alfred J. Leavitt) ; easterly, by John Brown (nowZaccheus Brown). After the above conveyance, Sergeant Philbrick removed to the south part of the town, now Seabrook, and settled on what is known as the Joseph Philbrick place.
