Gershom was the eldest son of Thomas Flagg. He was admitted freeman 27 May 1674, went to Woburn about 1668, and lived in the center of the village.30

“In 1673 Gershom had his dwelling-house, and tanning establishments, with about an acre of land attached, in High Street [in Woburn], near the site of the first meeting-house, having Rev. Mr. Carter’s house on the West, the Old Burying Place on the East, and the Training Field on the South. ... Lieut. Gershom Flagg was killed, with Wiswall his captain and others, by the Indians at Wheelwright’s Pond, in the town of Lee, NH, 6 Jul 1690.”344
