According to the Wolcott Family Web Page at http://www.wolcottfamily.com/ “John Woolcott of Watertown is almost certainly the father of John Woolcott of Newbury, although no clear documentary evidence has yet been found.” Also, “the evidence for this relationship is that the younger John Woolcott of Newbury sold land at Newbury to Nathaniel Clark, son of William Clark who married Sarah Woolcott, daughter of John of Watertown; and that John of Newbury owned land at Watertown at the time of his death. The dates, locations, circumstances, and DNA evidence are also right for this relationship.”
