10664. Innocent Cornell. Born ca 1673 in Portsmouth, RI. Innocent died aft 15 Nov 1720.

It is likely that Innocent, the wife of Richard borden was the daughter of Thomas and Sarah (Earle) Cornell. If so, the names of Richard and Innocent’s children would have been given as follows: eldest daughter Sarah named after Innocent’s mother, eldest son John named after Richard’s father, next eldest son Thomas named after Sarah’s father, next eldest daughter Mary named after Richard’s mother. Also, a later daughter Rebecca would have been named after Sarah’s grandmother Rebecca, whom her father Thomas was executed for murdering.

Sometimes it has been claimed that Innocent, the wife of Richard Borden was an Innocent Wodell (alternate spellings Woodell, Wardell), supposed daughter of Gershom & Mary (Tripp) Wodell.
Ca 1693 Innocent married Richard Borden (15242) , son of John Borden (5663) (Sep 1640-4 Jun 1716) & Mary Earle (10646) (ca 1655-Jun 1734). Born on 25 Oct 1671 in Newport, RI.25 Richard died in Bristol, RI, on 12 Jul 1732; he was 60.247
