    iv. James Chatfield, b. 11 Jan 1780 in Oxford, d. 1 Apr 1867 at Waterbury, m. 1st there 4 Mar 1812 Tamara Nichols (b. 25 Dec 1778 at Waterbury, d. there 30 Apr 1822), m. 2nd at Waterbury 16 Jun 1824 Huldah Hickox (b. 4 Aug 1787 at Waterbury, d. there 22 Dec 1873).
Prudence married Capt. Daniel Chatfield, son of Samuel Chatfield (28 Aug 1699-17 May 1785) & Sarah Riggs (ca 1706-15 Apr 1740). Born ca 1735 in Redding, CT. Daniel was baptized in Redding, CT, on 31 Aug 1735.68 Daniel died in Waterbury, CT on 11 Jul 1818.68

Daniel was appointed 2nd Lt. of the 2nd Co. in Mar 1761, and was Lt. of a company raised in Derby in Jan 1777, to join the Continental Army.
In May, 1778, he was commissioned Capt. of the 13th Co. in the Second Regiment. (State Records, Vols. 1 and 2).
