On 19 Dec 1710 when Elizabeth was 22, she married Rev. Samuel Ruggles (19947) , son of Capt. Samuel Ruggles (7227) (1 Jun 1658-25 Feb 1715/6) & Martha Woodbridge (10545) (15 Jun 1658-3 Jul 1738), in Billerica, MA.152 Born on 3 Dec 1681 in Roxbury, MA.152 Samuel died in Billerica, MA 8 Mar 1748/9.152 Education: 1702 Harvard.

    Samuel “was teacher in Hadley a short time; chosen to assist Mr. Whiting for one year, 1707, July 7, and ordained his collengue. 1708, May 19. He received, 1707, Sept.. a grant of eight acres of land, at £4 per acre, ‘on the common. Westward of the meeting-house, bounded by Enoch Kidder West, by Rogers South, by a highway North, and East by a streight line from the Smith-East corner of Capt. Danforth, his paster, to the North-East corner of Rogers, his orchard, by уe pound.’ Тhis lot had been early granted to the famous Capt. Gookin, and after, exchanged for a larger grant, South-East of Nutting’s pond. Here Mr. Ruggles’ house stood, perhaps where Mrs. Osborn now lives [1883], or farther South. At his death, his homestead, ‘about 16 acres,’ ‘with a large mansion-house,’ was appraised at £2300; library at £16, 15s; bonds and bills, £238; Silver ‘Tanker’ and other plate, £110; wearing apparel, £86; beds and furniture, £88; clock, £35; cows and swine, £91 : Negro woman, £200. Total. £4103.”

On 31 Dec 1714 when Catherine was 23, she married Col. John Lane, son of Lieut. John Lane (May 1661-17 Jan 1714/5) & Susannah Whipple (ca 1663-4 Aug 1713), in Billerica, MA. Born on 20 Oct 1691 in Billerica, MA. John died in Bedford, MA, on 23 Sep 1763; he was 71.
