(#190) Dr. Hezekiah Phelps, b. Windsor, Ct., about 1725, m. Lydia Griswold, (daughter of Samuel and 2nd wife Elizabeth (Gaylord) Griswold), b. Windsor, Ct., 17 Dec, 1722. Dr. Phelps graduated at Yale, studied medicine and practiced in Windsor, Ct. He died there 9 June, 1752. His will, dated 7 July, 1752, mentions his wife Lydia and daughter Lydia only. (The Griswold record says he had one son–probably a mistake).

After the death of Dr. Phelps, his widow, Lydia, m. Dr. Hezekiah Chaffee, who practiced and died in Windsor, Ct. By him she had:

Mary (Chaffee), b. 28 July, 1760, m. Capt. John Hooker,
Hezekiah (Chaffee), b. 21 Mar., 1760, m. twice.
Esther (Chaffee), b. 24 Apr., 1765, m. Capt. McLean.
John (Chaffee), b. 22 Feb., 1767, m, Mary Rowland.
Dr. Chaffee died 1 Oct., 1801, aged 79 years.
