Cornelius was baptized in Sleepy Hollow Reformed Church, on 1 May 1748.157 Cornelius, son of Tunis Van Tessel, witnesses Cornelius Van Tessel & wife [grandparents]. Cornelius died in Manlius, Onondaga County, New York on 28 Apr 1830.410

Cornelius was taken prinsoner at Fort Ann during the revolutionary war and imprisoned in Canada for two and a half years. Later he lived for a number of years in or around Cobbleskill, NY, and died in Manilus, NY.410
