On 6 May 1762 when Mary was 19, she married Abner Todd (34287) , son of Ithamar Todd (17471) (25 Oct 1712-19 Nov 1800) & Hannah Blakeslee (42324) (25 Mar 1718/9-31 Jan 1785), in Congregational Society, North Haven.51 Born on 4 Nov 1738 in New Haven, CT.52 Abner died in Lansing, NY, on 11 Jan 1805; he was 66.51

Abner served in Capt. James Peck’s Militia Co. for the defense of Fort William Henry 1757; also in the 6th Co., 2nd Regt., May to Nov 1758.6

Abner and Mary moved from Hamden, CT, to Lake Ridge, NY, in 1804, where he bought land and began the work of clearing it off and preparing it for cultivation.517
