56313. Henry Thomas. Born on 14 Dec 1796 in Scituate, MA.52 Henry died in Cambridge, MA, on 1 Nov 1814; he was 17.52 Henry was a “student of Harvard College wanting one month & fourteen days” in Cambridge.

Henry entered Harvard College 1813, but died the following year. His classmates erected a monument to his memory in the churchyard at Cambridge. He is said to have been ‘a youth of uncommon acquirements and of great promise,’ and his college friend, the Rev. Ira Henry Thomas Blanchard, procured legal permission to assume his name in respect for his memory.52 42

Francis was a student and assistant attendant with Dr. Wyman at the McLean Hospital for the insane in 1831.42

On 14 Apr 1834 when Francis was 30, he married Sarah Dunbar, daughter of Jesse Dunbar (28 Aug 1760-15 Jan 1836) & Sarah Witherell (ca 1760-31 Oct 1839), in Scituate, MA.52 Born on 13 Feb 1802 in Scituate, MA. Sarah died in Curaçao, West Indies, on 13 Feb 1835; she was 33.

In the list of deaths in the Scituate town records, it says simply that “Sarah Thomas, wife of Dr. Francis Thomas, died at Curaçao” 13 Feb 1835.
