Abraham took an active part in the Revolution, and was known as Captain Abraham Van Giesen, of Newark. He conveyed part of the homestead on which he lived, at Montclair, to Pieter Van Giesen, March 10, 1792, who in turn conveyed it to Jacob Kint, jun., July 2, 1807
