Born ca 1770 in Scotland. James died in Romulus, Seneca County, New York on 30 Sep 1844.
(There was a James Monro born at Flanders, Morris County, New Jersey, son of Robert and Mary Munro, about the right time to be this James, but that James Munro moved to Norfolk County, Ontario, with his brothers and died there 26 Mar 1806.)
