On 6 Jan 1847 when Harriette Richmond was 21, she married James Edwin Briggs (65133) , son of Cushing Otis Briggs (60785) (25 Feb 1787-10 Mar 1861) & Mercy Little Thomas (63784) (25 Sep 1791-Aug 1862).42 Born on 8 May 1821 in Scituate, MA.52 At the age of 10, James Edwin was baptized in Trinitarian Congregational Church, on 15 May 1831.52 James Edwin died in South Scituate (Norwell), MA, on 24 Jun 1880; he was 59.42

James learned the art of shipbuilding in his father’s yard on North River. When he was 19 years old he left home to work for Joshua Turner Foster in his Medford shipyard.42
