    James Platt, a resident of Warren died last Sunday of consumption. He formerly resided in Canfield, and was about 45 years of age. At one time, he acted as Deputy Sheriff, while his father Col. Erastus Platt, was Sheriff of Mahoning County. Deceased had been ill a long time. He leaves a wife and a large family of children.
On 23 Jun 1859 when James Edwin was 22, he married Mary Igoe Roller, daughter of Emanuel Washington Roller (9 Mar 1811-22 Jan 1852) & Elizabeth Hunt (27 Jan 1816-14 Sep 1906), in Canfield, Mahoning County, Ohio. Born on 2 Jan 1838 in Greenford, Columbiana County, Ohio. Mary Igoe died in Warren, Trumbull County, Ohio, on 12 Nov 1913; she was 75. Buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Warren.
