Charles E. Grubaugh, 82, of 471 Wine St., Galion, died at 9:07 a.m. Wednescay in riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, after a short illness.
    He was born in Galion to Ulyssis and Edna (Sickmiller) Grubaugh. He was married Aug 31, 1946 to Mary L. Grubaugh, who preceded him in death Oct. 6, 1988.
    Mr. Grubaugh is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, William and Iva Grubaugh of Galion, a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Joseph Grosso of Mansifield, and two nieces, Glenda Collins of Galion and Cheryl Vincent of Mansfield.
    He attended Galion High School and retired from Columbia Gas of Ohio in 1872 after 18 years. A World War II U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Brubaugh was a life member of American Legion Scarbrough Post 243, Galion, and a member of Polk Township AMVETS Post 1979, Galion.
    Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Fairview Cemetery, Galion. Graveside military services will be conducted by American Legion Scarbrough Post 243.
    At the family’s request, no calling hours will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Gifts for Yanks, 118 S. Market St.,, Galion, Ohio 44833. Arrangements are being handled by the Richardson-Davis Funeral Home, Galion.

Charles Edward Grubaugh was born in 1915 to Ulysses Grubaugh and Edna Marie Sickmiller. He spent his entire life in Galion, OH. He married Mary Louise Klingelhafer on 31 Aug 1946 in Galion.

Galion Girl wed Saturday morning
Galion - the marriage of Miss Mary L. Klingelhafer, the daughter of Mrs. Mary M. Klingelhafer of 969 Harding Way East, and Charles E. Grubaugh, son of Mrs. Edna Grubaugh of 228 Clymer avenue took place Saturday at 9:30 am in the parsonage of Peace Lutheran church. Rev. Philip E. Auer, pastor, used the single ring ceremony. The couple was unattended.
Both the bride and bridegroom were graduated from Galion High school. He is employed at the American Steel Grave Vault company. The couple will live at 471 Wine Street.

The couple did not have any children. Mary died in 1988 and Charles died in 1997.

William L. Grubaugh was born in 1919 to Ulysses Grubaugh and Edna Marie Sickmiller. He was the youngest of their 3 children. William spent much of his life in Galion, but he married Iva M. Starling on 25 Jun 1946 in Newport, Campbell, KY. This is the wedding announcement that appeared in the newspaper:

Marriage Announced
The June marriage of Iva Starling, daughter of Mrs. John Lykins of near Mt. Gilead, and William Grubaugh, son of Mrs. Edna Grubaugh of Galion, was announced late this week. The ceremony took place June 29, at Newport, KY. Mr. Grubaugh and his bride are living at 523 Richardson avenue.
The bride was graduated from North Robinson High School in 1940. She is employed at the Stratbury Company in Galion, and Mr. Grubaugh, who was graduated in 1939 from Galion High School is now employed at the Richland Printing Company in Mansfield.

William and Iva had two children - Linda Jane Grubaugh Collins (b.1951) and Joann Marie Grubaugh (1955-1955).

William Grubaugh
LEXINGTON - William Grubaugh, 88, of Lexington, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Grubaugh was born in Galion on June 2, 1919, to the late Ulysses and Edna Sickmiller Grubaugh. He married Iva Starling on June 25, 1946 and she survives.
He was employed as a paper cutter at Fisher Printing until his retirement. William was a graduate of Galion Senior High School. He was a verteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps. Also surviving are daughter, Linda Collins of Mansfield, two grandchildren, Matthew Collins of Visalia, CA and Elizabeth Collins of Mansfield, a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Joseph Grosso of Mansfield. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Mary Grubaugh. A private funeral service will be held at Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion, with burial in Fairview Cemetery.

Iva Marie Starling was born in 1922 to Jesse Emery Starling and Bessie Rosana Hinkel. Her father died when she was only 3 years old and her mother married John Lykins sometime before 1940. Iva married William L. Grubaugh on 25 Jun 1946 in Newport, Campbell, Kentucky. They had two children, one dying at the age of 4 days. Her other daughter is mentioned in the obituary below. Iva died in Mansfield, Ohio in 2010.

MANSFIELD: Iva Marie Grubaugh, 87, of 1693 Riva Ridge Dr., Mansfield, formerly of Galion, died Monday, November 15, 2010 at MedCentral Hospital, Mansfield. She had been in failing health for the past 5 years. Mrs. Grubaugh was born in Crawford County on December 20, 1922 to the late Jesse and Bessie (Hinkel) Starling. She married William Grubaugh on June 29, 1946 and he preceded her in death on November 4, 2007. She was retired from the Galion Inquirer as a paste up artist. Mrs. Grubaugh was a member of First United Church of Christ, Galion. Iva was a graduate of North Robinson High School class of 1940. Iva enjoyed bowling and loved gardening. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Collins, Mansfield; two grandchildren, Matthew Collins, San Jose, CA and Elizabeth Collins, Mansfield. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Joan Grubaugh; four sisters, Gladys Starling, Martha Snavely, Wanda Cotsamire and Rowena Chandler; and one brother, Glen Starling. Friends may call on Thursday November 18, 2010 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion. Graveside services will follow at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Bradley Smith officiating.
