Ralph Elwood Grubaugh was born in 1919 to Ralph (nmi) Grubaugh and Edith Emmaline Weber. He was the 3rd of 6 children born to this couple. He married Rita Maria Myers on 10 Sep 1938 in Galion.

Couple Wed in Galion Services
A service at 2 p.m. Saturday at the parsonage of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, united in marriage Rita Marie Myers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Myers of Harding Way West, and Ralph E. Grubaugh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Grubaugh, Sr., of Harding Way East. The marriage service was read by Rev. Father Louis Hoffman. Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wildenthaler, uncle and aunt of the bride.
Following the ceremony there was a wedding dinner at the home of the bride's parents, at 3 o'clock. For the present, the bridge and bridegroom will live with his parents.
Mr Grubaugh was graduated from Galion High School in 1938 and is now employed at the North Electric Mfg. Co. The bride was a junior last year in Galion High School.

Ralph and Rita had 5 children: Eugene R. Grubaugh (b.1939), David L. Grubaugh (b.1940), John L. Grubaugh (b.1942), Janet Lois Grubaugh Brown (b.1942) and Mary Rita Grubaugh McCarthy(b.1944). Janet and John were twins.

Ralph died in 2004 in Galion.

GALION -- Ralph E. "Stash" Grubaugh, 84, of 120 Carmel Ave. died Sunday, March 14, 2004, at Galion Community Hospital.
Born September 4, 1919, in Galion, he was the son of the late Ralph Grubaugh and Edith Weber Grubaugh. On September 10, 1938, he married Rita M. Myers Grubaugh and she preceded him in death on July 27, 1994.
He was a graduate of Galion High School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a lifetime Galion resident and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, St. Francis Council No. 1234 in Galion, Citizens Band Radio Breakfast Club on Channel 13, a member of St. Vincent De Paul Society and he taught C.C.D. at church.
He retired after 27 years from the former ITT North Electric in 1981 where he was a quality control engineer.
Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Gene R. Grubaugh, David L. and Joann Grubaugh, and John L. and Leona Grubaugh, all of Galion; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Thomas McCarthy, of New Washington; a son-in-law, Tom Brown, of Ashley, nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; two step great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Reindl and Gene Ellen Pollard; and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert S. and Shirley Grubaugh, all of Galion.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Brown, and granddaughter, Karen McCarthy.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, March 18, at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 19, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Schelling officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery where full military graveside honors will be held by Galion Area Veterans Organizations. Vigil services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Thursday during calling hours with Deacon Kevin Wintersteller officiating.

Gene Ellen Grubaugh was born in 1928 in Galion, OH to Ralph (nmi) Grubaugh and Edith Emmaline Weber. She was the 5th of their 6 children. She married William Charles Ricker on 6 Oct 1946. They had three children - Faye Lee Ricker, Sherry Lynn Ricker and William Eugene Ricker. William Ricker died in 1966 and Gene Ellen married Robert M. Pollard. They didn't have any children. Robert died in 1998 and Gene Ellen didn't get remarried. She died in 2008.

Gene Ellen Ricker-Pollard, 80, of Galion, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at Village Care Center, in Galion, after an extended illness.
Born June 14, 1928 in Galion, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Grubaugh and Edith E. (Weber) Grubaugh. She was previously married to William C. Ricker who preceded her in January of 1966. She married Robert Pollard who also preceded her.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion and was an avid bingo player. She also enjoyed crocheting and outdoor activities like hunting and fishing. She was a homemaker most of her life and helped her husband on their farm.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bill E. and Jodi Ricker of Galion; two daughters and sons-in-law, Fay L. and William Windbigler of Galion and Sherry L. and Donald LaRoche of Silver Springs, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert S. and Shirley Grubaugh of Galion; and one sister, Dorothy M. Reindl of Galion.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one great-granddaughter.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father John Brennen officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
