The town of Ballston is located to the southwest of the center of Saratoga County. It is bounded on the east by the town of Malta, on the north by the town of Milton, on the west by the town of Charlton, and on the south by the town of Clifton Park. The population of Ballston in 1865 was 2089.
This map is on page 9 of the Atlas. There are separate insets for one of the more built up parts of town, namely for Ballston Spa in the northeast and for Burnt Hills in the south.
