1650. King Alfonso I of Aragon & Navarre. Born ca 1073. Alfonso I died on 7 Sep 1134 in near Alumiente.

Alfonso I the battler, King of Aragon & Navarre (1104-1134). After ending his marriage to Urraca, conquered Saragossa in 1118. He was succeeded by his brother Ramiro II of Aragon (1134-1137). Navarre elected its own king, Garcia IV of Navarre (1134-1150).

In Oct 1109 Alfonso I married Queen Urraca of Castile & León (1517) , daughter of King Alfonso VI of Castile & León (2022) (1039/40-29 Jun 1109) & Constance de Bourgogne (1186) (ca 1046-ca 1093), in Monzon Castle, Burgos. Born in 1082. Urraca died on 8 Mar 1126 in Saldana, Spain.

1651. King Ramiro II of Aragon & Navarre. Born ca 1075. Ramiro II died on 16 Aug 1157 in Huesca, Spain.

Ramiro was a monk 1093-1134. Upon his brother’s death, he was summoned to King of Aragon & Navarre (1134-1136). After his daughter’s birth (who could inherit the kingdom), he returned to the cloister 1137 until his death.

In 1135 Ramiro II married Agnes d’ Aquitaine (1777) , daughter of Duc Guillaume IX d’ Aquitaine (1378) (22 Oct 1071-10 Feb 1126/7) & Philippa de Toulouse (1542) (ca 1073-28 Nov 1117), in Jaca, Spain. Born ca 1100 in Aquitaine.
