1165. [___] Boynton. Born ca 1583.

See John Farnham Boynton & Caroline (Harriman) Boynton’s The Boynton Family. A genealogy of the descendants of William and John Boynton, who emigrated from Yorkshire, England, in 1638, and setted at Rowley, Essex County, Massachusetts,1897.89

William and John were, indeed, brothers as William is mentioned in John’s will.

The Boynton Family89 claims that they were the son of a certain William Boynton, youngest son of Roger Boynton of Wintringham and Knapton who died in 1558. Roger’s youngest son was that William Boynton, executor of his father’s will, and residuary legatee. The following statements are made in that book, but without any references to back them up: William “continued to reside at Knapton, where his sons William, and John were born, the former in 1605, and the latter in 1614. These two brothers, in the year 1637, joined the expedition which was fitted out under the auxpices of Sir Matthew Boynton and others who had made extensive preparations behind and joined the fortunes of Oliver Cromwell.”
