    Thomas, the ‘cooper,’ and also known as ‘maltster,’ came from the west of England, says tradition, and settled in our Hing. ab. 1735-6. His name, however, does not appear upon our records until 1636, when there was ‘granted unto Thomas Lincoln, cooper, five acres of land at the west end of the town for a house-lot, butting on the town street eastward, and upon the common westward, and with the land of Francis Smith northward, and with the land of Thomas Nichols southward.’ This lot he afts. sold or exchanged for one on North, near Beal St., which was his homestead. He also had a small triangular lot of land granted him subsequent to the first disttribution of lots in 1635, at what is now the corner of North and Lincoln Sts. This (the triangular lot he afts. gave with malt-house, etc., to his youngest son, Benjamin. ... At the time the present meeting-house of the First Parish was erected (1680-81), Thomas Lincoln, cooper, was one of the five elderly gentlemen to whom was assigned a sitting ‘in the seate under y^e pulpit;’ while for Mrs. Lincoln a place was allotted ‘in the second seate next y^e pew.’

    Andrew had a grant of a house-lot containing five acres on Twon (North) St., the same as did his bro. George, Sept. 18, 1635. He also had ten acres granted him at ‘Nutty Hill,’ and six shares in the common lands. Apr. 6, 1648, he purchased of Aaron Ludkin of Charlestown, a house-lot in Hing. containing five acres with a dwelling and buildings thereon. This lot had previously been granted by the town to George Ludkin, the fa. of Aaron, and was bounded by George Lane eastward, Nicholas Baker westward, and the town street southward. He also purchased of said Ludkin land which had been granted to his fa. George Ludkin at Pleasant Hill, at the Great Lots, at Weir River, at Squirrel Hll, at the Plaine Neck, and at Broad Cove. ... Resided on North St., next west of the way leading to Squirrel Hill.

From Lincoln’s History of Hingham:45
    George was one of the early planters of Hing., and at the first distribution of land on Town (North) Street, Sept. 18, 1635, a house-lot of five acres was granted to him. He also had a grant of ten acres at ‘Nutty Hill,’ and thirteen shares in the common lands. He died 11 Jun 1689. Will proved 20 Aug followling “Shoemaker.” Selectman in 1669 and 1678. Resided on North Street, near Beal Street.

(Although it has been stated that the father of the John Lane who married Mehitable Hobart of Hingham was either George or Andrew Lane of Hingham, Ellen Jeanette Lane showed in her article “Parentage of John Lane of Hingham and Norton, Mass.” New Eng. Hist. Gen. Reg. 83 (1929): 466-467, that John was the son of William and Mary (Kelloway) Lane of Boston.)
George married Sarah Harris (2689) , daughter of Walter Harris (1195) (1590s-6 Nov 1654) & Mary Frye (-24 Jan 1655[/6]). Born ca 1624 in Honiton, Devon. Sarah was baptized in Honiton, Devon, 13 Mar 1624[/5]. Sarah died in Hingham, MA 26 Mar 1694/5.45

Although it has been stated that George and Sarah had a son John Lane who married Mehitable Hobart, Ellen Jeanette Lane showed in her article “Parentage of John Lane of Hingham and Norton, Mass.” New Eng. Hist. Gen. Reg. 83 (1929): 466-467, that John was the son of William and Mary (Kelloway) of Boston.

Ca 1636 Mary first married Joseph Long, son of Joseph Long.14 Born ca 1605 in England. Joseph died in London, England bef 22 May 1651.

Joseph returned to England for the settlement of his father’s estate. When he didn’t return, the court in Massachusetts Bay Colony, believing him dead, allowed Mary to remarry.

Mar 30, 1637 at Dorchester, MA dau of Joseph Farnsworth who emigrated from England to Dorchester ca 1628 and his wife, Elizabeth. Mary Farnsworth m. (1) 1668 Abraham Ripley. Res: Hingham, MA She m. (2) Edward Jenkins. Res: Scituate, MA By her first husband Abraham Ripley her descendant was the Hon. Winston Churchill (Prime Minister of Eng). In his will, Joseph Farnsworth bequeathes to his daughter "Mary ye wife of Abraham Ripley £24 11s wch makes up what she have allready received ye sume of £40."
Mary third married John Wilcox, son of John Wilcox (ca 1595/1598-1 Oct 1651) & Mary (-ca Dec 1668). Born on 13 Jan 1622 in Bury St. Edmonds, Suffolk. John died in Middletown, CT, on 24 May 1676; he was 54.197

John Wilcox, also spelled Wilcock or Wilcocks, first married Sarah Wadsworth; second Catherine Stoughton; third Mary (Lane) (Long) Farnsworth, widow of Joseph Long and Joseph Farnsworth; and fourth Esther Cornwell.

Sarah married Nathaniel Baker, son of [____] Baker. Born ca 1614.14 Nathaniel died in Hingham, MA on 3 Jun 1682.14 Occupation: yeoman.

Nathaniel was residing in Hingham by 1635. He was selectman there in 1650, and constable in 1668/9.14
