Pane-Joyce Genealogy
Jan Jacobse Gardenier (1459) & Sara Janse Van Bremen
3639. Josina Gardenier. Born ca 1669 in Albany, Albany County, New York.

Josina, of Kinderhook.
On 13 Oct 1689 Josina married Edward Wheeler in Reformed Dutch Church of Albany.156 First banns. Evert Willer, y.m., from N. E., and Josyntje Gardenier, y.d., from Kinderhook. Born ca 1660-1669 in New England. Edward died in Kinderhook, Columbia County, New York.

Edward, also known as Evart. Wheeler was also spelled Wieler.

It has been suggested that Edward was the son of John Wheeler who died 16 Dec 1691 at New London, Connecticut. Edward did come from New England as indicated from the marriage record at Albany. None of the witnesses at the baptisms of his children help in deciding his connections to New England. The names of his children are compatible with him being the son of John Wheeler of New London since there is an elder son Jan and other sons Robert and Thomas. Being from New England, it’s not clear that the Dutch naming system would apply to his family. Nonetheless, Wheeler is a common New England name.
