6048. Lieut. Isaac Buck. Born say 1620 in England. Isaac died in Scituate, MA in 1695.25

From Deane’s History of Scituate:53
    “Lieut. Isaac Buck, Blacksmith, was a brother of John, and was in Scituate before 1647. He purchased the house of Jeremiah Burroughs, which had been that of Resolved White at Belle house neck. In 1660, he built a house near the Harbour, on the Buck field, so called even now. The house of Anthony Waterman, lately [as of 1831] deceased, occupies the spot. He was a very useful man often engaged in publick business, and the Clerk of the Town for many years. He was a Lieut. in Philip’s was, and repulsed the Indians with great bravery from Scituate in March 1676.”

Isaac bore arms 1643; was rep. 1663, 4, 5; lieut. 1676.25

Will: Probate record for the estate of Isaac Buck: [1: 345-346: OS Docket #3218]. Division of the dower third set out to Francis [sic] Buck, late of Scituate, widow and Relict of Lieut. Isaac Buck, dated 30 August 1701, was made by Stephen Vinal, Nathaniel Tilden, David Jacobs and John Cushing, Jr., with one ninth part to the legal representatives of sons, Thomas Buck, James Buck and Joseph Buck, all deceased; to sons, Jonathan Buck and Benjamin Buck; and to daughters, Ruth, wife of Joseph Gannett, Mehitable, wife of Stephen Chittenden, Deborah, wife of Henry Merritt, and Elizabeth, wife of Robert Whitcomb.267
Isaac married Frances Marsh (2816) , daughter of John Marsh (1218) (-1 Jan 1665/6) & Rebecca. Born in England. Frances died aft Aug 1701.

6049. Cornet John Buck. John died in Scituate, MA in Sep 1697.

“Cornet John Buck appears in Scituate before 1650, and may have been the son of James Buck of Hingham. He was the first proprietor of Walnut tree hill, as least the wast part of it, in 1651, and his house was on the west side of that hill. He succeeded the vereran Robert Stetson as ‘Cornet of the Troopers,’ before Philip’s war, in which was he was constantly in service.”53

John’s will mentioned grandchilden living in Yarmouth and Sandwich.

Will: From the Mayflower Descendant, volume 14, page 128:
    John Buck's Will. The original will of “John Buck of Sittuate” is in the files at Plymouth, but it is worn, and the abstract here presented has been perfected by means of the probate record [Book I, p. 276]. The will was made 4 September, 1697. Bequests were as follows: “I will that all my houseing and lands lying in Sittuate be .... sold and equally divided between my daughters”; “I give and bequeath one Cow to my daughter Chandler..... I give.....to her Children Each of them one Sheep"; "to Isaac Randalls two Children to Each of them Six Shillings”; “to John garrets Children twelve Shillings apeece”; “to all my grand Children liveing at yarmouth and Sandwich one shilling to Each of them”; “my Son in law Isaac Randall to be my.....Executor”. The will was signed by a mark and witnesses by William Curtis, Sr. (who signed by a mark), John Curtis, James Torrey. It was probated 27 September, 1697, before William Bradford, Judge of Probate. The inventory was taken 21 September, 1697, by Elisha Turner and James Torrey, and sworn to by the executor on 27 September, 1697. “Lands and Houseing” were valued at £50. The original inventory is still in the files.

On 26 Apr 1693 John second married Sarah Faunce (4620) , daughter of John Faunce (ca 1607-29 Nov 1653) & Patience Morton (1844) (ca 1615-16 Aug 1691), in Plymouth, MA.52,63 Born ca 1645 in Plymouth, MA.31 Sarah died in Scituate, MA on 27 Jun 1695.63 “My Sister Sarah the Wif of John Buck of Sittuat deceased on the 27^th day of June 1695” recorded by Elder Faunce.

Sarah first married Edward Doty, second John Buck as his second wife.
