9731. Isaac Allerton. Born ca 1630 in Plymouth, MA.146 Isaac died in Westmoreland County, Virginia in 1702.146 Education: Harvard 1650.

"His father removed to New Amsterdam (New York) in 1638, while he remained at Plymouth with his grandfather, William Brewster, by whom he was prepared for Harvard where he graduated in 1650. It was fortunate for young Isaac that he had such a grandfather with a glorious background of teaching experience in England and Holland. Apparently he was the only son and grandson of a Mayflower Planter to attend Harvard, and it must be considered another link in a chain of circumstances proving Master William Brewster to have been a very exceptional person. After graduation Isaac joined his father in business in New York, New Haven, Virginia and elsewhere. Soon after the death of his father in New Haven in 1659, young Isaac removed to Virginia where land had been acquired about ten years before on the Machcatick River in Westmoreland County. He resided there until his death in 1702."146
