Ebenezer was ordained 11 Jun 1718 and installed Pastor of the First Church, Hingham. He has been called the father of American Unitarianism. “Middle size, dignified and patriachal appearance.” “A prudent Loyalist.” Perhaps best know serman of many “The Old Man’s Calender.” His last illness lasted one hour.171 Ebenezer was minister of the Church of Christ in Hingham nearly 69 years. He resided on North St., near Magoon’s Bridge, in Hingham.45
