Mary White, the daughter of Joseph & Mary (Rogers) White, may have been the wife of Thomas Soper.

Mary first married married Thomas Soper, second Robert Woodward. At her second marriage she was “aged 65” and Robert was “aged 85”.52 Four years before she married Thomas, her daughter Sarah had married Robert’s son James.
Mary first married Thomas Soper. Thomas died bef Sep 1735.

Thomas’s surname was often spelled Sopar.

    Thomas Soper purchased lands of Samuel Curtis, (1690) one fourth mile west of Curtis hill. His house stood in the field, fory rods southeast of the intersection of the roads. ... This family has descendants in Hanson, and perhaps in Weymouth.

On 11 Sep 1735 when Mary was 64, she second married Robert Woodward in the Second Church of Scituate.52 Born ca 1651. Robert died in Scituate, MA ca 1744.

Robert first married Bethia Torrey, second Mary (White) Soper, widow of Thomas Soper. Robert was 85 when he married Mary Soper, who was 65, according to the church records.52

The surname Woodward was often spelled Woodard or Woodart.

Robert settled in the west part of town, east of Symon’s hill.25

It’s been suggested that Robert was a son of Nathaniel Woodward of Boston and Taunton. Robert’s first wife was Mary Jackson, second Katherine. For an analysis, check out Some Descendants of Nathaniel Woodward who came from England to Boston, about 1630, by Harold Edward Woodward, 1984.

On 16 Sep 1696 when Joseph was 22, he married Oseeth Wing, daughter of John Wing (ca 1613-ca Mar 1699) & Elizabeth Dillingham (2 Apr 1616-31 Jan 1691/2), in Scituate, MA.110 Born on 12 Sep 1652 in Yarmouth, MA. Oseeth died in Truro, MA, on 13 Jun 1729; she was 76.437 Oseth White died June ye 13th 1729 in the 77 year of her age all recorded per me Tho Paine town clerk.

Oza, also spelled Oseth, Osheah, Oseeth, or Oseah. She first married Nathan Turner, second Joseph White.
