Thomas Pinsin of Scituate, husbandman, will dated 25 Mar 1714, proved 3 Jun 1714; gives to son Thomas Pinsin all the real estate, he to provide for “Elizabeth my wife and his naturall Mother”; mentions sons Thomas and Ebenezer; daughters Elizabeth Merritt, Joanna Thorn, Sarah House, and Bathsheba Nichols; and grandson Joseph Blossom.

4376. Timothy White. Born ca 1640.44 Timothy died in Scituate, MA on 13 Jun 1704.52

Timothy “settled on his father’s Conihasset farm, a half mile west of the Harbour and near his brother Joseph.”53

Timothy was constable in 1670, a member of two juries of inquest in 1673, a soldier in King Philip’s war and was wounded, sustaining ‘damages in his head by a shot.’ For his services hsi son Timothy had a share in the Narragasnsett town No. 7 (Gorham, ME) in 1733. In 1680 he was fined £20, of which £10 was abated, for defaiming the Governor and Major Cudworth.44

    Timothy’s will d. May 16, 1704, p. Sept. 22, 1704, mentions wife, Abigail; children, Timothy, Abigail White, Sarah White and Elizabeth White; son Timothy, Exr.
    He gives to his daughters, land at Drinkwater, “formerly the land of Cornett Robert Stetson, but now in my possession.”

Joseph lived near his brother on the Conihasset purchase. He was Constable for Scituate 1675, and a member of several juries of inquest.44
In 1660 Joseph first married Mary.53 Mary died in Scituate, MA in May 1677.52

On 7 Jun 1699 Joseph third married Elizabeth Vinal in Scituate, MA.110

(Which Elizabeth Vinal was it who married Joseph White as his third wife? Could it have been Elizabeth (Baker) Vinal, the widow of John Vinal who died 21 Aug 1698? Elizabeth Baker was baptized 10 Nov 1644. She married Jona Vinal 2 Feb 1664/5. John Vinal was born about 1636.)

On 25 Jan 1672 Sarah married John Bailey, son of John Bailey (-22 Jun 1686), in Scituate, MA.110,52 Born ca 1650. John died in Scituate, MA in 1718.53

John Bailey appears first in Scituate, as tenant to Capt. John Williams before 1670, at Farm neck.53 By Capt. Williams’ will, dated 1691, John Bailey was given the farm upon which he dwelt, the so-called ‘ancient Bailey farm’ at Conihassett. It adjoined the Briggs lands on the west.42

    John was made Freeman in Massachusetts Colony (as of Weymouth), May 23, 1677.
    He went to Scituate as a young man before 1670 to take charge of the farm of Capt. John Williams at the Neck. Capt. John Williams came from London with Mr. Hatherly in 1632. He was a householder in Scituate in 1647, and he bore arms in 1643. He was a man of energy and activity in the colony and a famous Indian fighter. He commanded a company in King Philip's War and was on the right wing of the ambuscade at the time when King Philip fell. He was a noted farmer of those days and counted his acres by the hundreds. He [John Williams] lived to a good old age and died in Scituate, June 22, 1694, leaving no family. The will of Captain Williams is dated at Scituate, 1691. lie gives to his nephew, William Barker of Marshfield, a 200-acre farm and legacies to other nephews. “To my ancient servant (tenant), John Bailey,” he gave the farm on which he lived at the Neck in Scituate. This farm contained about 175 acres and was considered one of the finest farms in Plymouth Colony.
    John Bailey died in Scituate in 1718, and in his will gave to his sons, John, Joseph, Benjamin, William and Samuel, £4 sterling, each, in addition to what they had already received. To daughter, Mary Perry, he gave £6o sterling. He named his son William, executor.
