Joseph first married Mary Garrett, second Judith Litchfield, and third Sarah (Ewell) Morey, widow of Edmund Morey.

Joseph was known as Joseph Briggs, Jr., to distinguish him from his cousin Joseph, son of Lt. James. Joseph Jr. lived in the Walter Briggs homestead at Conihassett, which he purchased from his cousin, John Briggs, Jr., when the latter removed to Boston.42

James first married Elizabeth Garrett, second Hannah Stowell, and third Anna (Smith) Stetson, widow of Anthony Stetson.

James was born in the Russell house at ‘the green bush.’ Before 1716 he resided on the main road in the South Parish, northwest of Wilson Hill. In 1725 James purchased from his neighbor Dea. George King lands in Ashford, CT, that had one been in the possession of James’ father and his uncle Capt. John Briggs.42

Jael’s will, dated 17 Jul 1770, proved 31 Aug 1770, mentions “my beloved husband Lisaac Lincoln”, sister Ruth Wade, also Joseph Wade, Jacob Wade, etc.45
7 Feb 1739[/40] Jael married Isaac Lincoln (46087) , son of Mordecai Lincoln (27237) (14 Jun 1657-28 Nov 1727) & Sarah Jones (ca 1660-), in First Parish Church of Scituate.52 Born on 24 Oct 1691 in Hingham, MA.45 Isaac died in Cohasset, MA, on 15 Jan 1771; he was 79. Marriage intention published on 22 Nov 1739 at Scituate, MA.52
