Obediah accompanied his father to Hadley in 1659. He took part in King Philip’s War. His house was burned by the Indians, and he, wounded and with a child, was captured by the Indians in 1677. He escaped from captivity in Canada the next year and returned to Wethersfield in 1679.151 150

Martin resided at Hatfield, Deerfield, and suffield. He was captured with four of his children in French and Indian destruction of Deerfield on 19 Feb 1704 and taken to Canada. His son Jonathan was killed in the raid.
