On 31 Oct 1660 Mehitable first married Samuel Hinsdale, son of Dea. Robert Hinsdale (say 1617-18 Sep 1675) & Ann Woodward (-4 Jun 1666), in Medfield, MA. Born ca 1642 in Dedham, MA. Samuel died in Deerfield, Franklin County, Massachusetts on 18 Sep 1675.

Samuel was the first settler of Deerfield. He died in the Battle of Bloody Brook.

From the History of Deerfield, genealogy page 202:161
    Samuel came to Hadley with his father; was an original owner in the 8000 acre grant, and in 1670 he owned one twelfth of the entire property; in 1669, before the lands were divided, he had broken up several acres, and was our [Deerfield’s] first settler; the committee found him a "Resident," in May, 1670; he lived on No. 14; he fell with Lothrop; his personal estate of £45 was "given his widow to bring up their children;" the "Land at Deerfield, alias Paucomtuck, not being valued in regard to the present Indian war rendering it at present of little worth, but being hopeful to prove a Real Estate hereafter," was given to Samuel and Mehuman. ''the Eldest to have a double share."

Mehitable second married John Root. John died in Deerfield, Franklin County, Massachusetts on 19 Sep 1677.

John was killed at Deerfield by Asphelon’s party.161

On 11 Mar 1679 Mehitable third married Dea. John Coleman.161

On 20 Oct 1676 when Margaret was 16, she married Josiah Leavitt (10018) , son of Dea. John Leavitt (ca 1608-20 Nov 1691) & Sarah Gilman (3374) (ca 1622-26 May 1700), in Hingham, MA.45 Born on 4 May 1653 in Hingham, MA.45 Josiah was baptized in Hingham, MA, on 8 May 1653. Josiah died in Hingham, MA, on 14 Sep 1708; he was 55.45 Occupation: cooper, farmer.

Josiah, freeman 1679, constable 1684, selectman 1689 and 1698, representative 1705. Resided on Leavitt St.45
